Villa & Garden
Villa Los Buhos - the Owls - is so-called bacause of the Eagle Owls which are known to nest in the rocky outcrop of the ancient castle near the house. This luxury villa sits in over a third of an acre of private landscaped gardens, with swimming pool, in a quiet corner of Gaucin village. The views from the house are stunning, whether of the village, the ruined castle above it, the surrounding mountains, or the uninterrupted vista down the valley of the river Genal to the distant Rock and Straits of Gibraltar, and even the Rif mountains in Morocco.
An absolutely delightful villa, elegant and spacious (over 5,000 square feet) and beautifully furnished throughout, it has five double/twin bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The lounge and dining room, together with the large rustic kitchen and pantry, occupy most of the first floor, and lead onto a large five-arched, porticoed terrace that enjoys the best of the views down to the Mediterranean.
The salt-water swimming pool (no chemical chlorine) is surrounded by mature gardens, terraces on different levels, a boule court, table tennis and barbecue area. The pool and garden offer complete privacy and the gardens are planted with an abundance of flowering shrubs, fruit trees such as mandarin and lemon, almond and olive trees, and many beautiful flower beds.
